Wow, ok I was not expecting to expect the unexpected this week, but it’s exactly what we should have expected. This week’s episode was definitely an odd one, the whole episode was masquerading as a filler at first, only then to reveal a twist, that completely changes from the source material and what I should expect in future episodes. Earth shifting twists aside let check out this week’s episodes highs and lows as we recap the dead.
Despite being an obvious filler episode, this weeks episode tilted ‘The Same Boat’, more than made up for it with a Carol and Maggie focused episode that featured a more female driven supporting cast. As you can imagine, life during the apocalypse is pretty rough, as you can also imagine, life in the apocalypse with XX chromosomes is even rougher. It’s a point of view that has never been really been explored before in the Walking Dead, so it made for an engaging and brutal filler episode. So did This weeks episode female driven cast shine a new light on life in the Zombie apocalypse or did it fall into obvious cliché pit falls? Lets find out as we recap the dead.
Just like we already new it was going to be, this weeks episode was balls bursting with action. It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen team Rick have to deal with a human threat en-mass. In fact we haven’t seen this much contempt for the living since the Governor and that guy thought it would be a good idea to bring a fucking tank to a gun fight (it’s actually a really really great idea, I highly recommend it actually). So as we recap on all the shooting and stabbing in this weeks episode, I gotta ask whether this episode hit the mark, or did the point of this episode get lost in all the bloodshed instead? Read More
This episode was pretty much exactly what it needed to be, ultimately not much happened in ‘Knots Untie’, but at the same time not much needed to. The Walking dead is in it’s slow shambling (I’m not even sorry i used that word) transgression into a slightly different format. Rick and the gang finally get to see a small part of a world that has been thriving and growing right under there nose. But is this new world already starting to look worse the the old one? Read More
After all the crazy stuff that happened in last week episode ‘No way out’, this weeks episode titled ‘ The new world takes’ dials everything back a little. Revealing one of the series most light-hearted episode ever (or at least as light-hearted as hunting down your dead loved ones in the woods can get), since season 2 on the farm, where stuff probably happened on said farm (honestly I don’t remember much of season 2…does anybody?). This episode ultimately serves to introduce one of the comics most popular charter, known as ‘Jesus’ (yes you read that right). So as usual I’m gonna shit out some of my opinions good and bad, on how this weeks mellow but important episode was handled. Read More
The Walking Dead’s mid season opener ‘No way out’ just premiered, so this feels like the most appropriate time to give my shitty opinions on some of the scenes in a pretty action packed, rocket fulled, advert plagued zombfest. After being absent from our screens for so long, its nice to have the ever popular serious back and they have definitely hit the ground running, with a thoroughly enjoyable start to the second half of the season. Regardless the Walking Dead often gets away with some shoddy stuff sometimes and this episode had a few silly and not so silly bumps along the road. Read More
